NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

PROJECTS AND MORE PROJECTS

Grade 7/8 will be working on their COAST TO COAST TO COAST projects this Monday and Friday. They will be away the rest of this week.

Grade 5/6 students have the week to  work on their underwater sea creatures project. This will include the use of the verbs voir and prepositions.

Grade 3/4 have started to make sentences with their vocabulary related to tropical islands.
Tomorrow, the students will explore manners and étiquette of a pirate. Oh surpirse! They did not think that pirates had étiquette. We call it a code!

Grade 1/2 are in the Spelliing Bee.  This week, they will make  up stories about their favourite 'pique nique.'

PK/JK/SK  are completing their transportation components and will be drawing their vooyage.

NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

This is a very full and busy week. Félicitations to the grades 3/4 for a great performance at the concert last night. They know how to play an audience and demonstrated poise and confidence.

Grade 5/6 have returned to the tropical fish unit and worked individually on vocabulary and answering riddles. All were successful and demonstrated good  knowledge at using the clues to get the answers.

Grade 3/4 students started a short unit on pirate ships. They brainstormed the vocabulary for a pirate ship. Also, they discovered how the pirate flag got its name from the Joli Rouge to the Jolly Roger.

Grade 7/8 took up the homework on the pronoun 'Y'. They explored the different types of sentence constructions. More on this for the rest of the week.

Grade 1/2 students have continued on their big book on meals. Today was le déjeuner, Thursday will be le dîner and Friday will be le souper.

PK/JK/SK students took rounds at counting as far as they could. Bravo Katie and Sarah for going as far as 60 (soixante). To finish off, they matched the seven days of the week to a different mode of transportation. Today was: à cheval, en camion, en train, en autobus, en bicyclette, en motocyclette, en ballon, en avion.

NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

This is the last month of a very busy week.

We had assembly this morning and the grade 5/6 missed French. However, theywill make it up next week when the grades 7/8 are away for their 2 day trip.

Grade 3/4 practiced their skits for the concert. They are sounding very clear and know their lines. Bravo!

Grade 7/8 did an excercise combining their canadian geography skills to modes of transportation. They had a few good laughs with trying to cross the Great Lakes by motorcycle. Fear not, we sorted it all out!

Grade 1/2 are beginning a unit of meals and thier favorite dishes. Today,  we started with le petit déjeuner.

PK/JK/SK began the modes of transportation and had fun flying around the classroom and pretending they were trains. Stay tuned!!!
